Lotte World

One of the amusement parks in Seoul that is not too far from Yonsei. Very fun! Indoor and outdoor rides and activities.

Discounts:

The first time I went to Lotte World in 2010 I brought my UH student ID to get a student discount!  During my study abroad in 2012, I used another discount through a holiday promotion!  So here’s the tip, if you’re planning on going to Lotte World, look for a discount because there WILL be one!  There’s a discount for those who go to the park after 4pm or so, which is cheaper, but I don’t think it’s worth it because the lines are a lot longer as the crowds grow throughout the day.

Transportation:

I caught the subway to the theme park which was about 45 minutes away from Yonsei. The subway ride is easy to navigate and there are a lot of signs at the station to point you towards the theme park.

Attire:

Wear shoes! You will definitely be walking a lot.  Since it is outdoors and indoors, you probably want to dress in layers so you can make the easy transition (depending on the weather).

Food:

Lots of snacks and restaurants available.  Lunch times do get very crowded! I paid about 10,000 won for a katsu lunch.

Rides:

My favorite was Atlantis! It’s a roller coaster that isn’t too big or scary but does provide lots of fun if  you like thrills!  This was the first ride we ran to that morning because the lines can get long as it’s probably seen as the best ride there! It’s located outside at the opposite end of the entrance. Pretty much all the rides are fun, there are some that are too kiddy for fun but see what other people are lining up for or grab a map that shows the details and locations of the various rides.

Ice Rink:

Didn’t get to skate there but there is an indoor ice rink!

Parade:

Every day there’s at least one parade performance which is cool to watch but time it well if you want to move anywhere in the theme park as it does cause roadblocks.
